Turn me into Your PURE donkey
Turn me into Your PURE donkey

Turn me into Your PURE donkey, Jesus.

27 April 2019 Freedom Day, was a special day in South Africa. Why? We as followers of Jesus Christ had to let go of our fear, join each other, stand together and walk the spiritual walk for our country. Why did we do this?

We submit our suburbs, towns, provinces, and country to the Living Yahweh and want the land to be led by YHVH and by Him alone.

I was unsure whether there is a march in my town, Stilbaai, and planned to just stay in Abba Father’s rest. When I received the message about the march in Stilbaai on the morning 27 April 2019, from one of my friends I knew I am supposed to be there.

I was in the process of healing my right knee and hip which meant I could not march, but was adamant about meeting up at each praying point and join in the prayers.

Seeing the crowd dressed in white cause my spirit to be drawn and immediately made me emotional. I realized how important this march is, even though; we do not really SEE anything happen. Praise be to our Living God that we are not to believe in the things seen, but the things unseen. { Romans 8:24 For this is the hope of our salvation. But hope means that we must trust and wait for what is still unseen. For why would we need to hope for something we already have?}

While I was driving to the last praying point of the march, I prayed and asked for scripture and received Mark 11. I paged in my Passion Translation Bible, and when I read the Heading, my heart leaped in my chest. I was convinced that the first 4 verses are the focus point.

Mark 11 The Passion Translation (TPT)

Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem

11 Now, as they were approaching Jerusalem, they arrived at the place of the stables[a] near Bethany on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of his disciples ahead and said to them, “As soon as you enter the village ahead, you will find a donkey’s colt tethered there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it to me. And if anyone asks, ‘Why are you taking it?’ tell them, ‘The master needs it and will send it back to you soon.’”[b]

  • Or Bethphage, which in Aramaic means “the house of stables.” Transliterated into Greek it means “the house of unripe figs.”
  • Only once in the Gospels do we see Jesus ever needing anything. In this case he needed a donkey. More than one commentator has seen a picture here of how the Lord “needs” every believer to be his representative in the world

What I experience every single time I read this, is Yeshua is ENTERING triumphantly into our hearts, our minds, our bodies, our souls, our towns, our houses, our families, our leadership, our government, our structures, and our country. HOSANNA!

Then, I read the rest of the scripture along with the footnotes (as added above). This is what I experienced: Yeshua entered triumphantly even though the figs were unripe. {Luke 6:43-49} South Africa is not bearing the fruit it’s supposed to, yet, but Jesus still enters. Just like the Lord told Abraham, that He would not destroy Sodom for the sake of 10 righteous people {Genesis 18:23-33}, so we humbly stand before our Abba Father and ask Him to save South Africa, to complete the good work He started in her and to allow her to prosper according to His will.

The last footnote of Mark 11:1-4 portrays that we ought to be Yeshua’s representatives in this world. Does this mean I have to be perfect? Does this mean I have to be Jesus?
No, thank Abba Father for that!

How are we representatives for Jesus? These are the first 3 that popped into my mind:

  • Be Fragrance

2 Corinthians 2:14-15

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him. 15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, [discernible both] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;

  • Be in Right Standing with Yahweh

Romans 4:5

 But to the one who does not work [that is, the one who does not try to earn his salvation by doing good], but believes and completely trusts in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is [Faith is not an equivalent or substitute for righteousness, but God graciously treats it as if it were the same. Otherwise, no one could be saved from sin and have eternal life.] credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God).

  • Be a Spotless Bride

2 Peter 3:14

14 So, beloved, since you are looking forward to these things, be diligent and make every effort to be found by Him [at His return] spotless and blameless, in peace [that is, inwardly calm with a sense of spiritual well-being and confidence, having lived a life of obedience to Him].

Each of the bullets mentioned above is processes that continue throughout our lives. Yes, it is not easy and should not be taken lightly, but the reward of overcoming is great! {2 John 1:8  Watch yourselves, so that you do not lose what we have accomplished together, but that you may receive a full and perfect reward [when He grants rewards to faithful believers]. / Colossians 3:23-25}

As I read this scripture, I saw Yeshua sitting on a donkey, and it hit me; “JESUS should be the only ‘THING’ riding us.”

WOW… Let that sink in for a while. What do I mean by this? Jesus should be behind our every decision, the reason for living, the motivation of our actions and the activation of our purposes. He should be the ONLY GOD we are serving, and we submit to.

Therefore, I ask and pray; Lord Jesus Christ, turn me into YOUR donkey. Just like the donkey has never been ridden before, you have proved me to be worthy by the fact that You GAVE Your body and SHED Your blood for me. Help me, Jesus, that it would not be in vain. Teach me, lead me, guide me and carry me through the purification process to be a spotless Bride, Be in Right standing with YHVH and to be YOUR sweet fragrance. Activate, cultivate and bring forth the peculiar treasure (Mal 3:17) you’ve invested into me. Let this treasure, this pearl, come forth, shine and show YOUR BRILLIANCE! Use me to be ALL YOU want me to be for YOUR GLORY and YOUR KINGDOM. In our town, our province, and South Africa. Breathe Your Breath into me, over and over again, until I am what YOU desire me to be. Abba Father let YOUR very breath give LIFE to my bones, my body, my soul, my tongue, my heart, and my spirit. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for actively working in me, with me, for me and around me. Thank You, Yeshua, for being my Shepherd. I praise YOUR WONDERFUL NAME: YHVH! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
